Invisalign aligners work similarly to metal braces. The difference is that the aligners are made from transparent thermoplastic. They fit snugly over your upper or lower teeth and apply mild pressure.

Dr. Mozayeni reviews your dental records, asks about your treatment goals, and completes an oral exam. If you have cavities, gum disease, or other oral issues, Dr. Mozayeni treats those things first. When your teeth and gums are healthy, she moves forward with treatment.

Dr. Mozayeni takes digital scans of your teeth and jaw. She uses your scans to develop an orthodontic treatment plan that maps out the precise movements of your teeth and jaw.

After finalizing your treatment plan, Dr. Mozayeni sends it to an Invisalign lab. Technicians at the lab use your scans to create a series of removable plastic aligners. Once your aligners are ready, you return to Dr. Mozayeni’s practice and try them on.

Throughout treatment, you visit Dr. Mozayeni every 3-4 weeks. At each checkup, she provides you with new Invisalign aligners and monitors your progress, making adjustments when needed.

How long does Invisalign treatment take?

The time that Invisalign treatment takes depends on the alignment issues treated and their severity. Mild issues, like crooked and overlapping teeth, often improve within 12-18 months.
